The first riad in the Medina of Tétouan. El Reducto holds within its walls, steeped in over two centuries of history, the very soul of the city's social and political life. This former Moorish palace was transformed in 1948 into the official residence of the Grand Vizier of Tétouan, Sidi Ahmed Abdelkrim Haddad, and, in 2006, opened its doors as a riad — becoming a pioneering establishment within the Medina. Its most recent renovation, completed in 2020, brought the comforts of a boutique hotel and restaurant without losing its original character.
In 1948 the palace was transformed into the official residence of the Grand Vizier of Tétouan, Sidi Ahmed Abdelkrim Haddad. Within its salons, steeped in history, much of Tétouan's social and political life was welcomed, debated and decided — the very soul of the city.
In 2006, El Reducto opened its doors as a riad — the first in the Medina of Tétouan. A pioneering establishment, it brought new life to the historic heart of the city while preserving every detail of its heritage.
Today, El Reducto's terraces and salons have served as a backdrop for international series, documentaries and films. We open these doors to you — nine splendid rooms, two restaurants and breathtaking views over the Medina and the Rif, always accompanied by the warm hospitality of a fine mint tea.
Curiosities
For a month, El Reducto was the meeting and resting place for the actors and filming crew of "El Tiempo entre Costuras", the Spanish television drama adapted from the novel of the same name by María Dueñas.
